John Curtin Law Clinic
The John Curtin Law Clinic aims to enhance the education of Curtin Law students and improve access to justice through supervised professional experience. The Law Clinic offers services to eligible Western Australian small businesses in a clinical legal education environment.
Welcome from the Dean
On behalf of the Law School, I am delighted to welcome you to the John Curtin Law Clinic. The Clinic is an important initiative of our new School. Students enrolling in this new elective will receive invaluable hands on experience under supervision, and provide an important service to the community.
The vision for Curtin Law School has four key elements: an intensive city based undergraduate academic program; the John Curtin Law Clinic; an independent co-located barristers’ chambers; and, from 2018, a Professional Legal Training program. These are all ambitious goals. Launching the Clinic is an especially important milestone for the School.
We have received strong encouragement and support from the legal community and the University for our model of legal education, and we look forward to working with you and other key stakeholders to achieve those goals.
I hope that the Clinic will become an important and enriching part of your educational experience.
Professor Paul Fairall
Foundation Dean of Law
