Ms Jane Machin-Everill
Jane Machin-Everill is Director Corporate Communications and Marketing at the Department of Education (and previously with the Department of Education and Training, and Department of Training). The Department is the largest public sector agency in Western Australia with 300 000 students, 45 000 staff and 800 schools/work sites across the State.
She leads a team of 25 staff across all aspects of public relations, communications, marketing, media, digital and events for the public education system.
Before joining the Department, Jane worked for the Department for Family and Children’s Services, Curtin University of Technology, The University of Western Australia and Catholic Education Office of WA in public relations roles.
She has won a number of Public Relations Institute of Australia awards at both State and national levels for campaigns and programs as diverse as child protection, the Bali bombings, teacher recruitment and school autonomy.
Jane has Bachelor of Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Information and Library Studies, and Diploma of Education. She has been a member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia since 1997 and during that time was Vice-President and then President of PRIA (WA). She was made a Fellow in 2008.
