Mr Mario D’Orazio
Mario has been managing director of Channel 7 Perth, Australia’s most successful free to air commercial TV station, since 2011. He’s on the board of the Channel 7 Telethon Trust, which has raised more than $153m for the betterment of the health and welfare of children in Western Australia.
Mario is also the chairman of the City of Perth’s not for profit Public Art Foundation. Mario restructured the foundation’s board, appointing its inaugural general manager in 2013. Its mission is to fund iconic works of public art in the Central Business District of Perth.
Mario was a member of the former Greater Curtin Town Committee, which advised the University Council on plans to develop and diversify activities on its 11ha land holding in the suburb of Bentley. More recently, Mario was appointed to the board of the WA Academy of Performing Arts, a highly acclaimed institution with an outstanding international reputation.
He gained a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Education from the University of Western Australia.
