Mr John Taya

John Taya is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Industry and External Engagement in the School of Management. He was formerly the Head of Human Resources discipline, responsible for programs such as the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Human Resources, the Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management and the Master of Human Resources. He also previously acted in the capacity of Director of the Master of Business Administration (Global), a unique program that attracts students from all around the world.

Prior to joining Curtin, John was the Executive Director Organisational Development at Main Roads Western Australia and was responsible for the strategic planning of the organisation, Human Resource Management, Human Capital Management, Cultural Corporate Governance, Innovation and Internal Communication.

He has also worked as a Director with the Department of the Premier & Cabinet in Western Australia, implementing change management for shared services covering a workforce of over 100,000 employees.

John has also worked in an executive capacity in the private sector in Australia and in London.

He has lectured in the MBA programs at the Graduate School of Management at the University of Western Australia, Chifley Business School and at the Graduate School of Business at Curtin University specialising in the areas of Leadership, Management, Organisational Development and Industrial Relations.
