Mr Chris Ryan

Chris has an extensive career in human resources management, including about 9 years leading the human resources function at Wesfarmers, and for the past 7 years providing business advice and support to Boards and CEO’s on strategic human resources issues.  He also undertakes non-executive director roles, including a current appointment with ASX-listed IT services business, Empired Limited.  Chris was appointed as an Adjunct Professor to Curtin Business School in 2011 and actively supports the alignment of industry with business education in that capacity.

As a member of the executive team at Wesfarmers, Chris worked closely with the CEO and Board in developing Group HR strategies which supported the sustained success of the Group.  Chris led the people aspects of the Coles Group acquisition, which was the largest corporate transaction that has been undertaken in Australia.  His interests are in organization development, talent management and remuneration strategy.

In his advisory practice Chris works across a range of industries and sectors.  His focus is on supporting executive talent management, structuring executive remuneration and the development of organisational and human resources strategies.

He holds a Bachelor of Business and has completed the Company Directors diploma. He is a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
